Brussels Picnic Table
Sunday, 28/6/2015 was a very special day for City of Brussels. The largest car-free zone in Europe welcomed 100,000 visitors in the heart of Brussels. Pedestrians became kings. E-woodproducts delivered and assembled about 25 KING picnic tables (1.80m, Square XXL, 2.40m, round) for this metropolis and its visitors!
At the Brussels fair, you can get acquainted with the 1.80m KING Picnic Tables.
In the photo below, you can see some square XXL picnic tables with backrests.
At E-woodproducts, we take pride in our contribution to projects that make cities more livable. Our recent delivery of tables for a pedestrian zone in the city center is a great example of this. On February 29, the city council presented the positive results of the circulation plan for the Pentagon during a council meeting.
What makes this pedestrian zone so special? First of all, measurements show that since its implementation, more cyclists and pedestrians are using it. Not only that, but the air quality in the area has noticeably improved. Reducing traffic on the former Anspachlaan has clearly contributed to the quality of life in the neighborhood.
Not only the local government is enthusiastic about this project. The European Commission has also praised Brussels for the expansion of the car-free zone in the center. In their evaluation, they emphasize the social aspect of such initiatives: better access for pedestrians and cyclists contributes to a more inclusive city, while the improved air quality benefits the health of all residents.
At E-woodproducts, we see this as a step in the right direction towards a more social city. Creating spaces where people can walk and cycle safely, and where the air we breathe is healthier, contributes to a better quality of life for everyone. We remain committed to projects that are not only sustainable but also contribute to a better environment for future generations.
Together, we can build cities that are not only functional but also inspiring and healthy. Let’s continue to strive for initiatives that improve our living environment and strengthen our communities.
